Greenfinch - Chloris chloris
In the Greenfich the sessulae dimorphism is quite evident, with the female having more opaque hues and yellow lipocromo reduced to a minimum. A small but sturdy and solid bird, with a large squared head with well visible eyebrows, conical beak and very strong, pointed wings and slightly forked tail.
Habitat: widespread throughout Europe, except Iceland, in Asia and North Africa. In Italy the species is present throughout the national territory.
Feeding: it feeds almost exclusively granivores, with particular preference for oily ones like sunflower, thistle, cereals and pine nuts. They like also of other foods of vegetable origin, such as buds, buds, berries and fruits.
