Fire-fronted Serin (Serinus pusillus)
The Fire-fronted Serin, is a very small and slender looking bird, with a round head, short conical beak, pointed wings and a slightly forked tip. Overall, remember the canaries for the shape and can be mistaken for very dark accordions. The sexual dimorphism is present but not very evident, with the male having a brighter color (frontal red and golden dorsal) compared to what can be found in the female.
Habitat: widespread in a rather wide range, which goes from Turkey to Tibet, northern Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and the southern slopes of the Himalaya chain, Pakistani and Nepal.
Nutrition: it feeds mostly on small seeds: in addition to these, its diet also consists of berries, buds, buds, leaflets. Only rarely insects.
