Brimstone Canary or Bully Canary
The Brimstone Canary or Bully Canary is a robust and slender bird of the size of 14-16 centimeters, with a rounded head, a strong conical beak, pointed wings and a slightly forked tip tail. The sexual dimorphism is very evident in the plumage, in the males eyebrow, cheeks, throat, chest (darker), shoulders, abdomen, hips and codione are of deep yellow color, while front, nape, back and wings is of greenish-yellow color . In females the yellow pigment is much less widespread and concentrated on the throat and lower abdomen, while the ventral area is gray with orange shades and the dorsal area is brown.
Habitat: it lives in flat, hilly and submontane areas with bushy cover of East Africa.
Feeding: mostly granivores feed on seeds of herbaceous plants, as well as buds, leaflets, flowers, berries and ripe fruits, but also insects especially during the period of reproduction.
