Milk thistle is known as a powerful antioxidant. Milk thistle has been used for over 2,000 years as a beneficial nutrient for various health purposes. The black seeds of the spent plant are often fed to birds such as goldfinches, bullfinches, and hookbills. The seeds are often more difficult for smaller birds to peel.
